"hey dave - thought I'd let you know ... picked up the tubes JJ EL84 and 12AU7 and it sounds really nice - not as loud for sure but brighter and tighter - but no noise until about 11 o'clock and fairly tame until about 3 at which point it gets really overdriven - if I was to add another filter cap (120 uf) will it reduce the overall volume of the amp or just further reduce the noise?"
